These things come in threes, right??

When I was driving home from my very long work day I was thinking to myself, "Hmmm... what do I blog about tonight?". Well Universe, this isn't what I had in mind.

I want to start this by saying I am okay and my Kiaster seems to be okay. But seriously- 3 people hitting my car in ONE year. For effin heck sake! So I was driving home and I go to turn left, pull in behind the car in the left turning lane, signal light on, stopped a safe distance away, waiting at the red light. There is an accident and lots of police cars blocking the way we were going to turn. So what does car in front of me decide to do? Oh yeah, REVERSE into my car. WTF!?! I just about peed my pants. I took her information (she "didn't see me") and will check things out in the light tomorrow but things are looking all right. I just want to sob myself to sleep. What did I do, Universe? Whatever it is, I'm sorry. Enough with the machines running into me already! Is this some twisted car-ma? Probably with puns like that, I suppose.

I hope your commute home was more successful. And hey, I guess I should look on the bright side- at least I wasn't involved in the serious accident across the street.

Visitors

If things weren't busy enough, we just had some visitors from far, far away. Matt and Leah's mom, Ali, came to visit and she brought her lovely friend Mary along too! It was really great seeing them both. Ali lives extra far away in Thailand and so we only see her once a year or so. Mary is a bit closer (at least she lives in the same country!) but we don't see her that often either.

I had to finish up work for a few days and we were in the midst of packing but we still managed a pretty good visit. Matt and Ali went to Elk Island Park for a hike one day and another day I took Ali and Mary to the Art Gallery of Alberta. They just reopened it after making some big changes and it was pretty cool. My favorite part was the Degas sculptures and the Yousuf Karsh exhibit. You could even take your own "Karsh style" picture and email it to yourself. I hate both of the ones taken of me but I think these ones of Ali and Mary are cute. What do you think?

Mary and Ali were good sports about helping us pack things and move. Mary left a little earlier and while Ali was here I was rear ended. My poor little Kiaster!!! At least $1500 of damage and the other person wrote their vehicle off. I'm sore and it was really frustrating to not be able to lift anything or help with the move. I held a lot of doors open and put lunch together. I'm lucky to have so many wonderful people in my life that are willing to help me out. I hope my car gets fixed soon but I think it's going to be a hassle. Ugh! Not fair- I was doing everything correctly and I have to do all this running around. This is the second time I've had to get her repaired this year (a family friend backed into my door and messed it up on Boxing Day). Anyway, the good outweighs the bad so hopefully it will all be resolved soon.

We had lots of laughs and good food and their visit went by too quickly. Hopefully we can get together again soon and things won't be so chaotic! I wouldn't mind going to Thailand again- it's our turn to visit, right?

Unwinding

With all this rage and stress it's comforting to know that I have my beautiful sister best friend to de-stress with. What would I do without her? (And what would I do without martinis?)

Cell Phone RAGE

Something that has been stressing me out for awhile is my cell phone. You may remember that Matt and I got matching LG Rumor (1) phones in June. His phone is fabulous- peachy even! My phone, however, started doing this "cute" thing where it would shut off for no reason. Initially it happened once or twice when I slid the QWERTY keyboard out to text something. This started happening about 3 weeks after I got it but I sort of shrugged it off because it didn't happen often. I stopped by the place we bought it and they told me that if I wanted to get it fixed I needed to call Virgin Mobile and they would send me a loaner phone. This sounded like a lot of work for a problem that didn't happen often.

Well, it started happening often. Like 10 times a day. And not just when I was sliding the text keyboard out. It would happen when I was talking on the phone regularly or if I was at the end of writing a massive text message. The phone could be fully charged and fresh off of the charger and it would do this. I would also like to add that I am incredibly careful with my belongings- I have never dropped this phone or had it anywhere near water or done anything to damage it. This is clearly a flaw with the Rumor phones (I know someone else who had a similar problem with their day old Rumor phone).

Finally I bit the bullet and decided that the annoyance of calling was less than the annoyance of living with my malfunctioning phone. So I called customer service and told someone about the problem. They listened carefully and then told me I needed to speak to another department and transferred me. I explained again and this person told me that I needed to call them back on a phone that wasn't my cell phone. Apparently I had to remove my battery and do a bunch of tests. I explained that is was my ONLY phone and no, I didn't have a landline or a friend handy. I eventually broke down and used Skype and was on hold for almost half an hour. Awesome start.

When I finally spoke to someone they didn't ask me to take out the battery or do anything so I didn't need to Skype after all. They said the loaner phone would be there in a week, at the most.

Fast forward to a month and a half later! Yes, that's how long it took the loaner phone to get to me. My phone had stopped shutting off (as much) and I'd figured they forgot about me so I was just continuing on. The phone shows up and it's hideous. I hate it. Maybe you think it doesn't look so bad but trust me, it's the phone devil. You know it's a bad sign when you turn a phone on and someone has programmed it to say "F*ck this Phone" on the background. Yeah.

I was conflicted about what to do at this point. If it took that long to get the loaner phone, how long would it take them to actually fix and return my phone to me? I called them up and they were not helpful. They made excuses. I procrastinated. Finally I had a nervous breakdown and had Matt help me figure out how to package my regular phone and hook up the loaner. This took more time than it should have! Also the first person screwed up which led to my phone and Matt's NOT WORKING AT ALL. So we had to call them back (put on hold even longer) so they could fix this. Not cool. Supposedly this is supposed to take maximum 3 weeks. It's been over a week and I'm not holding my breath.

Oh loaner phone, I hate you. I hate your crappy ring tones. I hate your screen. I hate texting with you, especially since you keep finishing my words with the wrong word and that this auto feature cannot be turned off (I've asked many people to help me with this.)! I should be able to answer "No" to someone but instead I have to write "Nope" because when I type "No" you understand it as "On". Leah's name is Leag because you won't let me write unfamiliar things. Abbreviations don't exist and you tack extra words that make no sense on the end of my sentence after I hit send! WHY!? I HATE YOU I HATE YOU! What good is unlimited texting if writing a text is a battle? Ugh. I hope they send me my regular phone back soon and that it's working or this is going to be a long, long phone contract.

Mouse Attack!

We live in a third floor apartment. You would think that this would mean that we would be spared from mice. I mean, they aren't getting in through the windows! Unfortunately we seem to have attracted a number of the little bastards. Matt was the one who first noticed one peeking out from behind the TV stand in the living room.

From there we bought some traps (mice like peanut butter more than cheese) and tried to contact our building manager. It took a long time for him to get back to us which was incredibly frustrating. We caught 7 mice in total (in a week) and four in one night! What the heck!!!! One of them died less than a foot away from me while I was checking my email! Seriously not cool.

When we managed to talk to the manager he said that they would have pest control come to our apartment and check things out. Of course, this conversation happened at about 9 pm at night and the manager said that "maybe" the guy would come the next morning and if he hadn't arrived by noon to call and let the manager know.

Needless to say, I was skeptical that anyone would arrive. So what did I do? I tempted fate. I woke up, sat around in my pajamas, didn't brush my teeth, hadn't showered (I didn't work until 3 pm), well you get the picture. This guaranteed that the pest control guy would arrive! And he did! Immediately I began shuffling around, concerned about the appearance of my apartment. Why didn't I expect him to come!? He is going to judge me!

For the most part our place is pretty clean and he must have seen a lot worse... Right? I'm sure all the other mouse infested homes looked like the one in the picture. I awkwardly made small talk with the pimple faced exterminator (see, I can judge too!) and he got to work looking for entry holes. He said it was pretty clear that if our apartment on the third floor was having issues then there were issues in other apartments. The mice were traveling around through the radiators.

I never know what to do when service people come to my place. Am I supposed to sit and watch them? Chat? Let them do their work unattended and risk them stealing something? Call a therapist and speak to them about my paranoia that an exterminator is going to steal something? What do you do? I have the same problem when the cable guy comes. I decided to wash my dishes because I would still be a presence and able to see and hear what he was doing but at the same time I could impress him with my cleanliness. See! It's not MY PLACE that is the true problem. It's the guy next door with his toxic waste collection!

Since the guy left we haven't seen any more mice in our apartment. I think he was pretty successful with blocking the hole. However, I do occasionally hear them scritch scratching and trying to get in. Or is that my paranoia again?

I'm not dead...

I have just been really busy. My schedule for work is a bit unbalanced so I was working a lot last week. I've had some time off and that has been used to frantically prepare for Halloween. I am really excited! Asia doesn't really do Halloween so it's been awhile since I really celebrated it. Steph is hardcore into stuff like I am so we're being pretty ambitious. Maybe it will backfire? Anyway, look forward to some updates about our Halloween tasks soon!

Busy

I need to update some more. Life has been getting in the way. Matt is busy using up the desk space in our room on a new art project. I've been working, reading and catching up with friends. It's been tiring but mostly positive stuff. Expect some more posts soon. I finally finished one of my half finished books! I'm getting discouraged though with my reading progress...

Name The Countries

Besides being ridiculously busy at work and trying to balance life otherwise, I have been playing online games. My current obsession is trying to name all of the countries in the world in 15 minutes or less. My best score is 166 out of 195. It's hard though! And some of these countries are spelled so strangely! Another problem I am having is that I am starting to get obscure countries but then I forget obvious ones. Give it a try and tell me your best score! That website has lots of fun quiz games that really make you think.

Moving Day!

The next morning was a little bit rough- Steph didn't get home until 7 am! But we all managed to get up and going. We picked my stepbrother, Jules, up in Vegreville and I yelled at my other brother who was clearly doing nothing and was just being a selfish ass and refusing to help. Karma's a bitch and he will get his. We got everything from the trailer into the apartment (which is on the 3rd floor! Groan.) in about an hour and we were both so grateful to those that helped us out. Honestly if Jules hadn't come we would have died. Matt and Jules carried so many large, heavy items (often working as a team) and it would have been a nightmare if he hadn't come out. Thank you so much Jules! You really came through when we needed you. Everything was pretty dusty since it had been sitting idly for 3 years. You can see the dust all over my face and boobs in the really unflattering picture of me and Steph.

We've been in the apartment for a week now and most things are unpacked. It was interesting seeing what we decided to keep. So far we've thrown away or donated almost as much as we've kept. I feel like I'm starting fresh. I think things should be settled by the time Leah comes around.

After we finished unloading everything we took all our helpers to Boston Pizza for a thank you lunch. Thanks again Steph, Jules, Mom and Tom! We couldn't have done it without you!

The Wedding Cake Fiasco

My Mom made Cindy and George's wedding cake. Possibly you aren't aware of this but my Mom is the best cook/baker ever and basically self taught herself how to do everything. She decided a few years ago to try her hand at making wedding cakes and it's blossomed into an insane (my word, not hers) hobby.

Look at how gorgeous the cake was:
My Mom made this, from scratch. She baked (no cake mix) this lemon pound cake (the bottom two layers) using 12 real lemons, 2 dozen eggs and 6 pounds of real butter. Why are wedding cakes always so dense? Because if it was made of angel food cake then it would collapse when the other layers and decorations were placed on top. That's why traditionally fruitcake has been used since it's so heavy and strong.

Anyway, Cindy's wedding weekend was a scorcher. It was over 30 degrees. Mom had finished up the cake earlier in the week and froze it (very common thing to do). When we went to put it in her 2nd refrigerator to slowly thaw out we discovered it was too giant to fit in (it fit but the door couldn't' be closed without smucking it. So it was decided that it would thaw out in the cool basement. This was on Thursday evening. Friday morning Mom and Tom left bright and early to go to another wedding while Matt and I were helping to decorate the hall and do other odds and ends. Just before it was time to go to the hall to decorate I noticed that something resembling snot was oozing down the cake and the deep freeze and leaving a sticky puddle on the floor. Naturally I did what any mature adult would do. I panicked and frantically called my mother. Mom said she would be able to fix it and she did, the morning of the wedding. Luckily she had an extra batch of the special fondat icing sticking around but it was pretty freaky for a bit. The cake was still a huge hit and had double the icing. Hopefully not too many guests developed diabetes as a result of that cake. Isn't it lovely though?

The Wedding Post

Wow, this has taken me awhile to post about. Things have been extremely hectic in my life with the new apartment and job but stuff is calming down a little bit. I have so many pictures from this wedding that you may as well go here and look at them. I will try to include some of the best ones though.

I woke up ridiculously early on the morning of the wedding- something like 5 am? I just couldn't sleep. You'd think that it was my wedding or something from how stressed and nervous I was. To be fair, Matt and I did have substantial wedding responsibilities. I spent the morning getting gussied up, helping Mom a bit with the cake fiasco (will blog about this next), putting last minute touches to our reception jokes and plans and answering Cindy's phone calls.

Everything went pretty perfectly. Sherry and Jenn (Cindy's sisters and bridesmaids/maids of honor) looked beautiful and Autumn was an adorable flower girl even if she did get a bit scared and fussy by the end of the ceremony (she's three though so considering this she did awesome). I sang the song and was so nervous (also wearing heels and trying to concentrate on not falling) but it's over and I think it went okay and I do not have a copy of the video, thank goodness. There were a lot of teary eyes and the ceremony went much smoother than the rehearsals so I guess it's good that the minister practiced 43042 times. Stephie bawled through the whole ceremony, especially when George had to take a moment to compose himself while saying his vows.

Between the ceremony and the reception I had to run over to the hall and get the "You Score, They Score" stuff set up, find the microphone and get the top secret Tim Horton's donuts in place. Then I had a much deserved milkshake and visited with Donna, Tamara, Jason, Steph, Dad and Sharron. I also managed to get a nap in before we had to head over to the hall.

The reception went reasonably well. We had worked really hard to try and make things entertaining and organized. There were a few fuck ups though and they were mainly my fault. Like when I introduced the wedding party and called George's brother by the wrong name. His name is Kevin but I called him Ross because he looks like Ross from Friends, also George's middle name and son's name is Ross so I think this is why I had that name stuck in my head. It was embarrassing but I tried to play it off. Also I forgot to ask his sister to come up to say grace at the right time. Our hockey themed kiss idea didn't work as well as we hoped but the kids loved it and happily played with it all night and kept out of trouble so I guess that was worth it. At the end of the night we gave the sticks and pucks to the kids to take home.

The dinner was delicious although I did have to sort of rush through eating it. People laughed at most of my jokes and the shoe game was a big hit. There were lots of touching speeches and apparently we pronounced all the names correctly (and other than Kevin we even had their correct first names). Overall a big success.

I cannot stress enough how gorgeous Cindy looked. She was just glowing. I've never seen her look so beautiful! George was looking pretty slick too. We had fun dancing the night away and I was fairly amused at Kevin (George's 30 yr old brother) attempting to pick up Stephie (who is 20). People from Ontario seem a bit strange. Haha. Maybe it was just this sample though. I also was the one that caught the bouquet. I am still not getting married but I just would like to reiterate how competitive I am. I just wanted to win. Matt did not get the garter.

In summary, it was a great day, perfect weather and all things worked out. I was really honored to be included so much in their day. I love you Cindy and George! Oh and I can't wait to see the professional pictures that Heidi took!!!

Quick Hello

We are great but things have been extremely busy this week! I am using "borrowed" internet in our new apartment!! That's right, we are in and it's a huge mess so I'm really glad Leah won't be here for a few more weeks. She would be frightened away, I'm sure! I still have to update about the wedding, a bit about starting my new job, maybe about my government job interview (although I think I will avoid work related stuff on here since I've heard people get fired for that sort of thing), the V-town fair and moving day, of course. Wow. I am exhausted just typing this and I still have to clean a bunch of stuff up before I go to work for 8 hours this afternoon. I can't wait until Thursday and Friday when I have a couple days off to really deal with unpacking. Hopefully this internet will stay available (and the magical free cable TV that we have at the moment!) so I can update some more!

Decorating/Rehearsal

Friday was another frantic day- I spent a lot of it trying to map out our MC stuff exactly (you should have seen my paper and what a freak I am) and some time freaking out about Cindy's cake (there was a meltdown that my Mom fixed like a pro but at the time it was pretty scary) and lots of time keeping Cindy cool and things rolling.

We stopped by the hall and helped decorate for a number of hours. Cindy was stressed but overall pretty calm. She did get a hint of bridezilla going on when she started scouring every rented table cloth for the slightest of stain. We managed to get things set up satisfactorily though. Setting up the hall took way more time than I planned so we ended up going straight to the wedding rehearsal from the hall. This would be no big deal except I was going to have to sing and had no time to warm up.

I haven't been involved in a lot of weddings but this struck me as the longest rehearsal ever!!! It lasted an hour and a half! The minister didn't impress me and seemed to have no clue what was going on and insisted on reading out full passages of things and making us do everything 4 times or more. We had to tell him basic things like "shouldn't you ask the congregation to stand up before Cindy comes in?". He also made me sing my darn song 3 times!! The pianist looked a bit annoyed but we got through everything (and the minister did a good job on the actual day so that's really what counts).

Then it was rehearsal dinner time. As if anything else could go wrong, the restaurant scheduled us for a different day! They found space for us and after a lot of waiting (we had a huge group) we finally ate. We got some awesome thank you presents too- Matt got cuff links engraved with his initials and I got an awesome (but incredibly heavy!!) cast iron tea pot and cups. It's from a store called Teaopia that I will have to check out sometime. It was a long day but a decent one.

New Dress!

Wednesday was a surprisingly busy day. I was really tense and stressed out about wedding stuff. We weren't totally prepared at that point and the day was coming quickly. I decided to chill out with some shopping therapy and bought this dress on sale. I felt very nautical but it doesn't photograph well. I should know better than to wear horizontal stripes. They are friends to no one! I also got a pedicure so my toes would be looking nice for the wedding. In the evening I headed out to the bridal shower. Anyway, what do you think of my dress?

It's Wedding Time!

Wow, I have been so busy this week. Today's the big day for Cindy and George. The hall is decorated and there have only been a few hiccups. I think it should be fabulous. I wish I had slept better- I fell asleep at about 12:30 and woke up at 5 am!!! WTF! You'd think that it was me getting married or something. I think I am just stressed about singing and being the MC but I am sure it's unwarranted. Anyway, look for updates about Steph's birthday, Cindy's bridal shower and the wedding soon!

Tough Week

This last week just flew by which means that we are one week away from Cindy and George's wedding. Insane! To back up a little, here is what we were doing this week. I wrote a Caseworker Certification Exam on Monday which is part of the process of getting a government job (takes forever). They said that they wouldn't mark the tests for 2 weeks and that lots of people fail it. Well they contacted me yesterday to say that I passed it (I'm pretty shocked) so now I have to figure out when we're doing an in-person interview. Nerve wracking.

I also spent Thursday and Friday in a first aid/CPR course. This was really tough because I had some really bad news given to me on Wednesday about my Mom's health. If you want to know what's going on you can email me privately about it. So needless to say the last place I wanted to be was at some stupid first aid course. What also didn't help was that the girl I kept getting partnered with was young, stupid and never taken first aid. She also liked to argue with me about things and I wanted to smack her. I'm sure I had less patience than usual but she was really irritating me. She kept asking retarded questions and at the end of the day the class was split into two groups. We were in the first group and we were given symptoms to act out and the other group had to come in and treat us. Then we did a switch, so our group left the room and then returned to help the other people and administer first aid. Seems pretty simple, right? It was even numbers so every person should have had one "victim" to deal with. Well, genius girl decided to take off and assist someone else so I was left tending to two victims. Also my victims happened to be really into their "roles" and were super impossible and aggressive. Basically they both died. Haha. And then it turns out that genius girl was going to put the knife back into her stabbing victim to stop the bleeding. Like what the hell!!!! I was really glad when the course was finished and I passed everything so now I shouldn't have to do that again for awhile.

I've also come down with a cold. This is probably due to having to sit in the medi-centre for FOUR HOURS to try and get new prescriptions. Talk about getting more than I bargained for. This is very bad because I am supposed to MC and sing at Cindy's wedding next weekend. Being sick makes it difficult to practice or do much of anything. I am taking medication, drinking fluids and resting so hopefully it goes away as quickly as it came.

Keeping Busy

I took some pictures of Venus playing with her ball. Since I like to have pictures on the blog I'm going to include them even though they have nothing to do with what I'm posting about.

Yesterday we went to Edmonton and had coffee with an old university friend. I had such a good time. We haven't had a lot of contact with friends since returning to Canada because we've been staying with my parents. None of my friends live in the same town as my parents. I am excited to move to Edmonton so I can rekindle friendships. This weekend we're going to the Improvaganza finals with Sev so I am really pumped for that. Should be hilarious!

Otherwise I have been shopping a little bit (nothing too exciting, some capris and more shoes that are cute but I don't really need- they were $5 though!). We bought some blank cds so I've been spending a lot of time making mixes for our car. I've never had a car with a cd player (yes, I am pathetic). Actually our last car had a questionable radio and didn't even have a tape deck. Haha! Matt and I are silly and are making theme cds. So far we have: Driving Songs, Karaoke Faves (1 and 2) and Silly Songs. Any ideas for other themes? I'm going to make a Korean Songs one too.

Today I am going to clean out the Kiester. It's pretty nasty because of dog hair and cigarrette smoke, among other things. I toyed with the idea of getting it detailed (so many people were encouraging me to do this) but I don't have a job right now and I am cheap so I may as well take some of this free time and put it to good use. Maybe I will post before and after pics. We'll see. Maybe you won't really be able to tell though.

I also need to do some planning for the two major things causing me stress: the job interview and Cindy's wedding. I have had anxiety filled dreams concerning both of these events this week so I should try and do something to help alleviate my stress. Okay, I guess I'd better get to work!

Arachnophobia!!!

Since we've been staying at my Dad's house (almost a month now) Matt has been finding these freaky spiders in the basement bathroom. The first time we didn't think too much of it but now he's found close to 10 of them in total. Last night he found FOUR. FOUR! One of them was on Jules' bed! So they are no longer just hanging out in the bathroom trying to freshen themselves up. [I realize that spiders do not stay in one place even if I want to deny that reality.]

We have now captured 2 of them and I took some pictures of the largest of the two. It is so active, jumpy and huge! I looked carefully around the edges of the walls near the basement bathroom and I can see a ton of spiderwebs. I think they are living and breeding inside the walls!

The worst part is that I sleep in the basement!! I had the worst sleep ever last night because I kept dreaming of spiders crawling all over me. We've called an environmental guy to come and look at the spiders we caught and he should be here next week. Man, I hope we didn't accidentally buy a house that's built on a spider farm!!! (In the words of Steph.) Frick! I just hope it doesn't turn out to be the brown recluse or something. It may not live in Canada commonly but we've been traveling around a lot so who knows what could have tagged along!

The Grind

It's so hard for me to stay motivated and focused at my Dad's house. We have an apartment to move into mid-July and it will be such a relief to be able to get organized. My Dad is totally awesome for letting me crash here but I will be so happy to just unpack. It can be so hard to function when you are still living out of a suitcase even though you're "home" for an extended period of time.

Today I applied for a whole bunch of jobs. Now I've applied for 10 in total and I am hoping I will start receiving some calls for interviews soon. I haven't been gone that long and doesn't it show how adventurous and fearless I am for living outside of the country? Come on people- hire me! I am totally employable. It could end up being a bit of a gong show if I do get a job soon. We are buying my Dad's Kia Rio and so will have to get the registration and insurance sorted out in the next week or so. We have a place to stay in Edmonton if I start working before we can move into our apartment, however, I would like to unpack and be organized!

Also on the agenda is getting everything ready for my best friend's wedding on July 18th. I guess it's nice that I am unemployed since I have time to try and plan things. Matt and I are the MCs for the reception and she has asked me to sing a song in the church while they sign their marriage certificate. I am pretty frickin' nervous. Actually I think the only people in my family that know she's asked me to do this are Matt and my sister Steph. I keep thinking maybe I will back out like a coward. It's been ages since I've sang in public and even longer since it was solo. Also I have no one to give me real feedback so it's hard to say if I am hitting the notes properly. Hopefully I am just freaking out for nothing.

What else? I am trying to start reading more because I would like to read 50 books this year. It might be a steep goal (yes, I realize there are people I know that read 100+ books a year but I am just not that amazing). I stole the entire Hitchhiker's Guide series from my brother's book shelf this weekend so if I finish that it will count for 5 books! I am excited to unpack for another reason- I have books packed away that I've never read. It will be a little bit like Christmas (although with used things that you own).

My friend showed me this video today and I thought it was hilarious. It's my reward after applying for jobs. Haha!

Life in Canada

It's high time that I posted an update on how we are doing in Canada. Things are all right- we managed to get over our jet lag and have been staying mainly with my Dad. I did go to my Mom's last weekend and we had a good time and even caught a cool concert with a South African choir.

Matt is writing the LSAT today and should be finished it soon. What a gong show- he thought it was on Saturday and so we drove to Edmonton (I went with him so I could apartment hunt a little bit) and it turned out the test is today. Classic Matt! I was just glad that it wasn't on Friday or something like that. As long as he doesn't miss writing it!

We have cell phones now (something we did on Saturday since we were in Edmonton anyway) and I am really excited about mine. I think it's so cool and pretty. It's an LG and has a slide out keyboard for texting. Now I just have to hurry up and get an apartment in Edmonton so I can use it more. I'll take a picture of it later so you can see it.

Yeah, everything is pretty stressful. I've updated my resume and have been applying for jobs. We are basically starting over from scratch and need jobs, an apartment and a car in the next little while. We also have to do our taxes from the last three years so that will probably be a blast.

Something that has kept my spirits up and kept me ridiculously busy is the puppies that my Dad's dog recently had. There are four of them and I have been in charge of taking care of them while everyone else is at work. Most of you have probably seen the pictures of them on Facebook but I will do a post anyway. They are so sweet and cute!
